In this work, Tavoni presents abstract and ethereal female silhouettes, illuminated with radiant tones. These large-format images, reminiscent of painted figures, are achieved through the use of a translucent fabric that softens the finer details of the photograph. Tavoni then applies traditional chromogenic processes to print these images on treated cotton sheets, merging photography with textile elements. Tavoni’s approach in the Identity series focuses on exploring identity and ego as internal processes, independent of external patterns. Through his images, he seeks a collective understanding of the power of affection and how true identity is formed deep within oneself, free from external norms. By covering the figures with delicate fabrics, Tavoni removes traditional markers of identity, allowing subtle tactile gestures to coexist with movement and choreography. This speaks to the power of embracing humanity beyond the constraints of imposed stereotypes.
